New Bat Rules for 2012

As many of you know, rules for bats are changing for almost everyone nationwide due mainly to safety concerns. The LSFBL has adopted the following rules which will go into affect for 2012. These restrictions are basically identical to the rules employed by national organizations, such as Little League.

All metal and alloy bats with a max barrel of 2 1/4 inches, max BPF of 1.15, max length of 33 inches, max drop of Minus 12.  Composite barreled bats meeting these requirements will be allowed if they are approved for Little League play as evidenced by a stamp on the bat.

13 and 14 year-old divisions

All metal and alloy bats with a max barrel of 2 5/8 inches, max length of 34 inches.  For 13s max drop of Minus 8; for 14s max drop of Minus 5 Composite barreled bats meeting these requirements will be allowed if they are approved for Little League play as evidenced by a stamp on the bat. All BBCOR bats will be allowed.
